Math Books :

Mathemania! Problems by Robin Pemantle, Jeff Wolinsky, Dan Bach. Annotated problem-solving
math book with fun and intriguing math games, logic puzzles and problem solving strategies, based
on seven widely attended northern California math competitions held in the '70's and '80's to stimulate
interest in math concepts and problem-solving. Each chapter represents one competition problem set,
ranging from easy to very challenging, and can be used by schools for their own fun math tournaments.

Prealgebra - Mathematics for a Variable World - by Dan Bach and Patricia Leitner - A popular text
with tons of examples, clear explanations, and wide range of exercises and activities. This awesome
book teaches number sense and patterns that gently lead to algebra formulas. Disclaimer: my book.

Math Doesn't Suck - Actress Danica McKellar (called a 'math superstar' by The New York Times) rips the
lid off the myth that math "sucks," helping to show that math can be easy, relevant, and even glamorous!
Aimed at middle-school girls, but a should-read for all. Danica answered my math question on the air!
